I believe that outfit of the day (OOTD) posts can be so much more than just fashion posts. In todays blog I explain that bold claim…
I started doing OOTD again recently, since working from home again really, because it’s easy to be tempted to stay in your jammies if you don’t have to go into the office.
As good as this seems in the beginning, it can start to get you down, that’s definitely the case with me anyway. I find if I’m staying in Jammies, why bother making sure I have a shower, if I don’t have a shower why bother with my hair or teeth? It really can be a spiral.
Getting fully dressed each day makes me feel fresh. It means that I also spend time on my hair and sometimes make up which makes me feel good about myself. It’s amazing how getting dressed can really increase your mood.
Body Confidence/Body Acceptance
I don’t think a lot of people know this…but I’m a bit of a confidence promoter…sshhh. I believe the key to body acceptance is getting used to what you look like aka, taking as many photos as you can!!
A lot of people do OOTD to show their fashionista side, but I believe it can also be used for the more casual low key looks, and that’s how I tied it in with body acceptance.
I will do OOTD when I’m glam and heading to a party, as well as when I’m wearing leggings and a jumper and everything in between.
Now you’ve heard of selfies and you’ve heard of outfit of the day…let me introduce you to ‘face of the day’ I’ve recently started doing this too and the same applies. I take a photo whether I’m made up with perfect hair or if I have a messy bun and no make-up (and everything in between.) The only rule is that I don’t filter the photos.
